Our Youth Development focus area provides disadvantaged youth with opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency and maximize their capabilities.
“Disadvantaged” is defined as youth who have barriers to success, whether they are social, physical, economic, or academic.
“Youth” is defined in the majority of cases as 15-25, and TKF is open to the idea of using local and regional definitions of “youth” depending on the specific context.
The TK Foundation’s goals for impacting the futures of Disadvantaged Youth are:
- To improve educational achievement of disadvantaged youth
- To prepare disadvantaged youth for succeeding in the workforce
